The Studio is on a break

Saturday 21 May 2011

A few weeks ago, I tried to re-install Windows on my laptop. To make it short, an error occured, and now, I don't know if I'll be able to retrieve all my info from my hard drive. I do have a partition as a back up, but they're saying that I might have to sacrifice it in order to get my laptop running again.

I'm agonising over that, because I have years of work, and years of my life in there. My photos, writings, books, music, films, programs, everything.

Until I get my laptop back, safe and sound, I'm gonna be out of businness.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I know I'm behind on some designs, but they're gonna have to wait.

Old Blog Design: The Clock Monkey - Book Blog

Monday 21 March 2011

I thought I'd share with you my book blog's design. It was made last year, but I love it and I'm still using it.
The banner image was made with elements from a couple of EMI's free kits, as were the post dividers and button.

This is another No Budget design.

New Blog Design: Lauren Oliver's Author Blog

Thursday 17 March 2011

Not so long ago, I'd made a different layout for Lauren, but I wasn't all that convinced, and I knew it didn't fit the theme of her new book at all. So, using DELIRIUM's cover for inspiration, I made her this new layout.

The idea for the banner came from the book's cover, and for it I have to with credit to Erin Fitzsimmons, the cover artist. The Author Photo is Jonathan Alpeyrie's.

This is another No Budget layout, since the only graphics in it (the banner image, the post dividers, the sidebar buttons and the little favicon) were made by me.

The background colour is the same as the book's cover, and the post titles' font is from Kevin and Amanda.

You can see the blog live here.

NaNoWriMo Covers 2010

Saturday 12 March 2011

Last year, when I was in NaNo -which I failed- I also did some covers for other NaNoers. And here they are:

New Blog Design: DJ's Book Blog!

I just finished installing DJ's new layout. The blue theme was chosen by him, and the banner goes perfectly with his upcoming book, HUNTED, about a werewolf who's being chased by a hunter.

This was made with a budget of 0 dollars: the background is a freebie from a design site, WebTreats ETC; the font is from Kevin and Amanda; the trees from the banner are free Photoshop brushes, and the rest of the graphics and codes are all mine.

I always wonder what I'd be able to do if I had money to spend on a layout design.

Welcome to the Studio!

Wednesday 9 March 2011

Hi everyone, I finally made a site for my designs!

I wanted to tell you a bit about how I ended up here:
I have a book blog, I've had it for two years, and you know how it's always hard to find just the perfect design. So I started playing around with my layout's HTML. Then I discovered the beauty of digital scrapbooking.
And after a while, I had a new layout, made by me!

I'm not a graphic designer (although I thought about becoming one for a while, but decided to study Film), but I can use Photoshop CS4, and I'm slowly learning my way through Illustrator CS4. (This site's graphics were made in AI). If by some miracle, you decide you'd like me to design your blog, we'll talk about what you want, and I might make the graphics for you. I won't be working with Scrapbooking Kits yet.

I'm still in the process of making my design portfolio. I have a bunch of layouts to make!

I hope I can have some freebies in the future, and a lot of new things, so keep coming back!

*Pricing coming soon!*
